Link Party Features

Thanks to Bonnie from The Pin Junkie, I was a co-host in my first linky party last week!

It was a one-time-deal to celebrate The Pin Junkie's first blogiversary, but I fell in love with so many of the projects linked up, I thought I would come up with some of my own features. Click here to see the whole party.

First up, is a genius idea from Marcy at Day2Day SuperMom. I've seen lots of chicken wire frames before, but never one used for socks. Great idea! Her laundry room is much cuter than mine.

Next, I have found a new girl-crush. I want Brittany from Leopard and Plaid to be my friend who tells me what's cool these days. Case in point: this awesome, vintage-looking trash can she refinished.

Cathy, from A Peek Into My Paradise made the most delicious looking PB&J I've ever seen!

And lastly, you know me. I can't ever pass up a good furniture make-over. I've been a fan of Susan from Sunflower Hugs for a while now. If you like my stuff, then Susan will be right up your ally. She shared an absolutely beautiful back and white desk make-over. I'm a sucker for Hepplewhite drawer pulls.

Thank you to everyone who linked up, and a BIG thanks to Bonnie for letting me co-host!

I picked a random winner for the Finish Max paint gun by HomeRight, wrote my emails to the company and winner, left for San Diego for a family vacation and COMPLETELY forgot to announce the winner!

Guest Bedroom Make-Over: Guest Feature from Home Coming

I am so excited today! Today, I get to share the first post from my new contributor, Kayla from Home Coming! She has strengths in areas that I don't, so she will be stopping by regularly to offer some design advice and share some of her fun projects.

I just love this room she created! Scroll down to meet Kayla and check out her new guest room.

Hello!! I'm Kayla from Home Coming and I'm pretty darn excited to be a guest here at Pneumatic Addict Furniture! I'm a DIY and home blogger with a lot of love for updating a house on a budget. My husband is a carpenter by day (so he's handy) and I'm in advertising (so I'm creative), so we're the perfect team for taking on the task of updating our 1920's Minneapolis house. Check out the progress we've made on our home and other DIY projects here!

My husband and I have moved a TON in the last 10 years; from Minnesota, to Colorado, to Virginia and now back home to Minnesota. And with all that moving, I haven't really been able to define my apartment or home style. So now that we're back in our Minneapolis house, we're slowly renovation and updating the house to fit with our wants, needs, and best of all - style!!

After photographing our entire home for a pre-renovation home tour, I finally decided to take on the eye-sore that was our guest bedroom.  Here's what our hodge-podge guest bedroom was looking like before.

Guest Bedroom
Not very appealing, right? It's a combination of random bedding, pillows and lamps we had laying around the house from past apartments.

Now, we've just jumped into a master suite renovation, so I didn't want to spend a lot of time or money on upgrading our guest bedroom, but I wanted it to be a space I could be proud for my friends and family to stay. And since Ikea is one of my very favorite home design stores, my mom and I headed out to the wonderful store that is an Ikea store.

Ikea Trip
Four hours later, you could say that we did a little damage.

But after only $75, I was able to transform our hodge-podge guest bedroom into something beautiful.  Check this out!

I decided to go with a black and white theme after finding so much B&W stuff that I couldn't live without at Ikea - with just a few pops of color with things like the artificial grass and the large painting.

Love the upgrade? Here are all of the products I used:

The Tool Furniture Painters CANNOT Live Without! (GIVEAWAY!)

I have been dying to share this post with you guys for weeks! Seriously!

When I was at at Haven this summer, I had the chance to meet a representative from Home Right. I had the chance to talk to her about the Finish Max Fine Finish Sprayer. A couple weeks later, I had a package sitting on my front step.

I fell in love at first spray! I'm not kidding, this paint gun is life changing! If you have plans to ever paint a piece of furniture, you need to get this gun.

I've tried it with latex as well as chalk paint. You do need to thin most paints before running them through, but that's easy to figure out. The gun comes with a viscosity tester and a chart.

The first project I tried it on was the yellow Mid-Century desk and chair. Perfectly smooth, even painting with NO brushstrokes.

It honestly took me 15 mins to spray the entire body, drawers, and chair. One of the nice things about spraying paint is how quickly each coat dries. I got 2 coats of paint and 2 coats of PolyAcrylic sprayed in an hour!

I will never brush a chair again!

I've used my pneumatic HVLP spray gun dozens of times, but the Finish Max leaves it in the dust. I was really surprised how powerful the motor is. I love the fact that I don't have to lug a compressor around! Its totally silent until you pull the trigger, and even then its maybe as loud as an electric sander.

Pros:

  • Even spray with great coverage.

  • Easy portability.

  • Adjustable spray pattern.

  • It has a flat bottom, so it stands up on its own. (SO convenient!)

  • No need for compressor.

  • Price. ($75.67 on Amazon)

Cons:

  • Not the easiest to clean. (but not much worse than most paint guns)

  • Can be a little heavy with a full cup of paint.

Honestly, it was a bit of a struggle coming up with the cons. I haven't been so happy with a product in a LONG time.

Yes, I received the Finish Max from Home Right in exchange for this post, but I would have happily written one anyways. When I discover an awesome product, I feel like I have to share it with you! All opinions are entirely my own. Please, feel free to ask any questions you may have about my experience with the Finish Max!

Here is an Amazon Affiliate Link for you to buy the Finish Max

Thanks to the generosity of Home Right, one of you will get your very own Finish Max shipped to your house for free! Are you excited? Because you should be!

VIBRANT Blue Buffet Make-Over

I've been a fan of my friend Beth's work for a while. She blogs at Make Me Pretty Again. Her work is amazing!

She has the knack for finding the best stuff! My very favorite, hands-down is this pretty, vintage buffet.

And look what she did with it! To quote my husband's favorite movie "I could not love a human baby more than I love this"

I could stare at this photo for hours.

Make sure you head over to Beth's blog for all the details. Do you love it as much as me?
